Family & Parent-Teen Workshops
We offer a range of workshops to to help you develop skills and tools for better communication and mutual understanding within your family relationships.
Parenting can be both a profound joy and profoundly challenging. These workshops are designed to strengthen parents’ capacity and resilience and those of our youth and children.
Workshops can be offered online and/or in-person (when Covid-safe). Please contact Building Bridges to discuss details.
Increasing Self-Esteem & Follow Through
This workshop explores a practical approach and tools that can be applied to areas ranging from daily interactions and problem solving/planning to program development.
Managing Anger Positively
This workshop will explore the causes of anger, the needs it fulfills for the person, and then will move on to specific tools to help a child/teen de-escalate/respond to anger at each of its four stages.
Family Communication
Communication can be the path to a positive and loving family. Or not. We will look at approaches and techniques to help step out of power struggles and instead build strong and beautiful bridges with children/teens.
Responding to Conflict Positively
Conflicts between parents and children/teens is normal. It is how they are resolved that makes them natural or negative. This workshop explores the sources of family conflicts and approaches and tools to resolve them positively.
The Gift of (Effective) Discipline
explore a child-focused approach to consequences (versus punishment) and look at a number of techniques to both maintain healthy discipline at home and to increase your child’s self-discipline.
Foundations of Positive Parenting
This workshop explores tools to strengthen your child’s self-esteem – increasing their connection to family and their positive personal growth.
