We offer a range of workshops to to help you develop skills and tools to support and manage client relationships as well as self-care.

Service providers’ work can be richly rewarding or painfully challenging (and exhausting). These workshops are designed to increase providers’ capacity and resilience in our work with our clients.

RESOLVING CONFLICTS POSITIVELY: Win-Win Problem Solving & Collaborative Communication

Conflict is a natural part of every relationship. A healthy relationship resolves those differences in a positive way. This “how to” workshop introduces approaches, tools & techniques that lead to win-win solutions.

DEALING WITH DIFFICULT / ANGRY PEOPLE: moving from enemy to ally

Facing an angry or “difficult” person can feel overwhelming. This workshop explores an approach and a set of tools suited to quickly defusing angry or ‘difficult’ behaviour positively – safely, balancing both care and respect.

Managing a Client’s Anger

Anger can be frightening, whether it comes from a school-aged child or a teen. In fact, anger is a call for help. This workshop will explore anger’s causes/goals and then will move on to specific tools to help a child/teen de-escalate learn self-management.

SELF-CARE: Remembering ‘This is my life!’

The challenges of work and of life in general can be overwhelming. And just as often it is hard to “remember to breathe,” let alone to take care of ourselves. The workshop explores the challenges and solutions in an educational and fun way.

Building Self-Esteem & Increasing Follow-Through in Youth

As service providers, we want to strengthen our clients’ self-esteem, growth and positive changes without creating either dependence or a sense of abandonment. This workshop provides a practical approach and tools valuable in areas ranging from daily interactions to strategic planning.

Managing Conflict Positively – In and Out of the Classroom

Conflict is normal, in and out of the classroom. But it can feel more like a battle of wills instead of a learning opportunity. This workshop will introduce an approach and specific techniques to increase our ability to manage conflict positively – for us and our students.

MEDIATION & YOUTH: A One-Day “How To” Introduction

Beginning with an exploration of the mediation process (the “Waltz”) and the relevant micro-skills, using case examples we will put them into practice. Participants will gain the knowledge and confidence to facilitate disputes with/between teens.

BUILDING BRIDGES: Parent-Teen Mediation in four/five Days

This in-depth workshop provides frontline workers with knowledge and skills to increase their effectiveness in: mediating conflicts involving parents and/or teens, creating effective behavior contracts, providing psycho-education to youth re conflict and anger, in addition to managing day-to-day disputes and “difficult” clients.
